Nike's The Girl Effect - The Power of Girl
Sometimes you read something and it just resonates within you. I was walking down Great Eastern Street and the bright colours caught my eye. I had to cross the street and just gaze at this mural - so simple and powerful. The artist Lakwena recently returned from completing one of her signature style colourful murals in Vienna, and spent several days working on this commission for The Girl Effect. The Girl Effect is a charity created by The Nike Foundation and the goal is to empower "the 250 million adolescent girls living in poverty to reach their full potential. Girls are a proven force for change and are the catalyst to end global poverty."
