Wanting to Wear Sorapol - SS14 collection at The Serpentine Gallery

Sorapol launched their SS14 collection at The Serpentine Gallery Pavilion at dusk. It was the perfect location as the collection is called "Tevana" which means "Midnight Garden" in Sanskrit and the latticed structure designed by Sou Fujimoto gave the event a very other worldly feel.  Of course serving Hapsburg Absinthe cocktails in green and blue in made the evening slightly more magical! It was one of those rare fashion events where not only was everything very well planned but the synergy of the space, the collection, the guests was truly magical. It was a very happy event where strangers were chatting to each other, kindly introducing themselves to one another. The collection was featured on mannequins with make up that was hauntingly beautiful with crystals on the face, porcelain skin, ruby crystal lips while wearing crowns by Emily Frances Barett. The dresses were dreamy with fabrics of silks, and experimental PVC, metallic leathers and resin. The collection is feminine with many of the silhouettes corseted with embroidery, floral and crystal embellishment. I've used several Sorapol show pieces for editorials and  they are extraordinary and incredibly heavy - this collection seems so wearable that I want to try them all on and dance about!Head Designer Sorapol Chawaphatnakul with Creative Director Daniel Lismore
