Mr. Start & Mr. Hare - London Collections: Men
Mr. Hare and Mr. Start showed their SS14 collection at London’s House of St. Barnabase in Soho during the London Collections: Men. It was a very English event - everyone was very cheery and polite, there were lots of summer treats served with champagne and so many handsome men. I've been following Mr Hare's work since he first launched five years ago and in only a few years he's solidified his business and has investment from John Ayton, the joint founder of jeweller Links of London. He's also planning to launch in Hong Kong and Japan this year. Mr. Hare has been a rising star from day one - now he's one of London's most important shoe designers. Mr. Hare has no formal training in shoe design - he just makes shoes that he likes, plus he's really nice and so friendly that you just can't help feeling a bit smitten.
Mr. Start's collection feels younger, it's casual wear for the man who likes tailoring. I love the new take on the bomber jackets and the black & blue dinner jackets and the frayed lapels.
