Stefán Orschel-Read at London Fashion Week
This was Stefán Orschel-Read's second season at London Fashion Week and I really enjoyed working with him. It really was beautiful and the models were just lovely - there was a lot of excitement backstage. The collection was called "Fågeln" - Stefán was inspired by the beauty of female birds and the ceiling murals of Stockholm’s Storkyrkan Cathedral.
The collection had a very English country life feel: it included birds embroidered on pockets, delicate floral prints in soft leather with dusty pinks and poke-a-dots, and more abstract floral print that recalled the early pattern work of William Morris. The birds print was used on the hoodies - a very feminine print on a masculine piece of the clothing. In this collection you really noted Stefán's tailoring skills, beautiful crafted chevron jackets in natural earthtones with his signature trousers.
The jewelery was from Marie Parsons. It worked beautiful with the collection. Parsons is in her first year at the RCA studying textiles and specialising in Mixed Media.
