Sana Zod's Graduate Collection

There are only a frightening 7 weeks until the Nottingham Trent Graduate Fashion Show and the pressure is on! There are 4 shows that take place in Nottingham over 2 days on Thursday 21st May and Friday 22nd May 2009. The 4 shows titled ‘Sew What?’ are showcasing 78 talented Fashion Design Students, and their Degree Collections.

Nottingham Trent University broke up for Easter holiday on Friday, but I, and the majority of my fashion design peers are still in Nottingham over the Easter break working hard on our graduate collections. I have had the go ahead to make 2 out of 6 outfits in the real fabrics which is very exciting and everything is going to plan, thankfully!

Following on from my research about the Monolith Totem pole in Oslo and growths and erosion, I have become fascinated with my own personal photographs of the West Pier in Brighton, which was destroyed by a fire and has since been deteriorating. It has inspired my collection greatly, be it with the shredding, fabric choice, and dyeing effects.

Here is my line up with some of my final fabrics (minus one outfit which I am still developing):

I am beginning to source all of my chosen fabrics, threads and buttons and zips in the correct quantities and will be making a trip to London in the next week to go to Shepherds Bush and Berwick Street! It is all becoming very real and exciting!
